Sometimes a diet coke and a good cry are all you need to get through finals week.
Finals are the most stressful part of a college student’s life. My university brings therapy dogs to the library to prevent mental breakdowns. The struggle is real.
Here are a few of my tips on making it through the worst week in a college student’s semester (based on the experience of a girl going through her 6th finals week in college).

Here are a few of my tips on making it through the worst week in a college student’s semester (based on the experience of a girl going through her 6th finals week in college).
1. Don’t procrastinate.
It’s Tuesday of finals week and my Communication and Research Methods group has a 28 page paper due on Thursday. Guess who was surprised with a 5 page discussion paper over Social Penetration Theory focusing on the depth/rate of self-disclosure of college students in the Emerging Leaders program? Doesn’t that sound like fun?
2. It's okay to cry.
I’ve only broken down twice, surprisingly. Once was because I finished my final argumentation paper, turned it in, and then realized a very large and obvious mistake. The second time was because of (look at #1). It’s fine. I’m fine.
3. Don't sweat a bad test grade.
Will you-in-five-years really care about that C on your Math 130 final (because that’s the grade I’m going to get tomorrow)?
"D" is for diploma, everyone.

4. Eat healthy.
This is coming from the girl who had a diet coke and Pop-Tart as her midnight snack in the library. I’m a stress-eater, don’t judge. But in all seriousness, don’t forget to nourish your body because your stomach’s favorite time to growl obnoxiously is in a quiet classroom during a test.
5. SLEEP.
All-nighters are not fun. And they will mess you up. Seriously. (Plot twist: I’m writing this at 4:10 AM, the diet coke wasn't such a good idea after all). Don’t be like me. *cries*
Good luck on finals!
